Discipleship Explored course
Following the success of our Christianity Explored course in the Spring of 2011 we subsequently ran a Discipleship Explored course through Nov and Dec 2011. This course enabled candidates to delve deeper into what it means to live as a Christian. It was ideal for those who attended the CE course and wanted to deepen their relationship with God and also for those who had recently been baptised and about a dozen faithful participants attended.

Going Bananas Children's Holiday Club
Thank you to everyone who came to our Children's holiday club
during the first week of the Summer holidays. A good time was had by all. Don't forget our regular clubs all start again in the first week of next term so enjoy your holidays and we will see you then. More details on our activities page

BAPTISMS at Sizewell Hall
We had a wonderful day at Sizewell Hall on the 25th June 2011 when witnessed the baptism of four of our young people. A good crowd gathered to hear their testimony and share in singing their favourite songs before they were baptised in the sea on a very warm but overcast afternoon. This was followed by picnic tea and then a celebration service on Sun 26th at 10.45am back at the church which was a wonderful time of praise and thanksgiving.

Christianity Explored Course
Many thanks to those who came along to our Christianity Explored course at Stoke Ash Village Hall. A very faithful group of about half-a-dozen met over seven weeks to look at the Good News about Jesus as presented by Mark's gospel and on DVD. We are thrilled that five of our course members have also come along to our Sunday services and/or mid-week Bible study and we look forward to continuing this life-changing voyage of discovery together.

Ted & Cecil on BBC Radio Suffolk

In spite of our best efforts to ignore them we occasionally have a visit from a couple of local boys called Ted Ringer and Cecil Pitt. Calling themselves 'tew owd boyz' they try to entertain us with tales of Suffolk life and culture. Ocassionally funny, they seem (somehow) to have developed a bit of a following and often accompany the boy band 'Born in a barn' when they sing around the county (several SABC men are in BinaB).

Now, out of the blue, Ted & Cecil have hit the big time! In April 2008 they were invited in to BBC Radio Suffolk to spend a couple of hours as 'guests on the sofa' with Lesley Dolphin. We had to send Harry and Jonathan (Steed) to look after them as they can get up to mischief on a day out in town. But all went off well and a good time was had by all. Now they tell us they are 'waiten fur the nod from the Lundun Pull-aye-deum'. Talk about ideas above their station!

Thanks to Lesley and the BBC Radio Suffolk staff for making it such an enjoyable experience.

200 years at SABC

One of the many highlights in recent years was the our 200th birthday weekend in June 2005. Central to these celebrations was our 'evening with Helen Shapiro' on Saturday 25th June which was the actual anniversary. We rejoice in a wonderful weekend and many friends joining us to celebrate. More photos and a breakdown of our various anniversary activities are included on our Special Events page.
